STM-281 Guidelines for Creating a Lead-Free Control Plan

Lead is now forbidden in general electronic equipment, but pure tin causes problems in space, which accordingly has an exemption. ESA requires that lead alloys are used for spacecraft electronics. This document describes the problems, requirements and methods relevant to preparation of a plan for companies to control against the use of lead-free components and to ensure that pure tin does not find its way into the manufacturing chain.
